Doug, first of all, we're going to get to Audiology Awareness Month, a big time for you, of course, but you've also got some great giveaways going on as part of your anniversary celebration.

We're getting close to Christmas time, so there should be some good things.

All right, let's talk Audiology Awareness Month, because this is a good time for everybody out there to remember to test your ears at 50 years. We've used that phrase a lot. It's a very catchy little phrase, but it's also got a lot of good advice. Test your ears when you start to get into your 50s. Absolutely.
SPEAKER 02 :
I mean, you need some type of a mnemonic to remember everything. And I think for people with their hearing, it's a great time to do that. And I'm telling you, John, I have a lot of patients that are coming in in their 50s now, many more so than even two decades ago. And I think it's because of awareness, overall health care awareness about the importance of our hearing and hopefully, of course, sound advice and that little catchphrase.
SPEAKER 01 :
Again, it's a fact where they can really do something about their hearing loss. They're understanding what's going to happen now. They don't have that same stigma that they did years ago.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, I think people are trying to live healthier lives and longer lives. And they realize that, you know, untreated hearing loss has some very detrimental consequences to our, you know, just obviously our communication ability, our quality of life. Also can negatively affect our balance and make us more prone to falling. And then, of course, the ties to the cognitive issues that people can have with untreated hearing loss. And so I think it's just raising awareness, Audiology Awareness Month, as we talked about earlier in the program, celebrating 25 years as an audiologist.
